An invitation, for your community
I'd love to bring one to your parents.
Your 45-second video sits here.
I'm Katie, mum to Charlie and Olive. Like many parents I know, I ended up being the one in our house who knew where everything was; the kids' details, the policies, the renewal dates, the myGov info.
That's not a system. That's one person's memory, and a whole sorry collection of scattered places.
So I'm building Tribu to fix it. And while I build it, I've been getting parents together to do the admin we're all avoiding.
Life admin is unsexy and boring. I must be bonkers, but I've become completely obsessed with making it less so.
I'm building Tribu because I think it will genuinely take weight off parents; the mental load of being the one who knows where everything is, what's due, what's lapsed, and what you've been meaning to sort for months.
That's the product.
This night is the other half of it. If the admin has to get done anyway, I'd rather we did it together, with a drink, than alone at 11pm feeling behind.
If your parents leave having ticked a few things off their lists, had a laugh, connected with each other and learned something new, that's a win.
The idea is simple; everyone comes with three things they've been meaning to sort (aka the tasks they've put on their back burner!).
Tasks that can actually be done outside business hours.
Think:
I can't imagine it would take your parents long to conjure their lists!
I host the evening for you, so there's nothing for you to do on the night except your To-Do list!
Parents arrive, grab a drink and settle in. Then everyone opens a laptop and we go quiet for a defined period whilst we work on our tasks.
We break, nibble, connect, and do another session.
The breaks are where it gets good. Someone works out how to do a thing and tells everyone else. They learn something, they act on it that night while they have the momentum, and they learn from each other as they go.
Nothing. I'm building Tribu, and these nights are how I learn what families are actually stuck on.
All I'd ask is ten minutes on the night to tell your parents what I'm building, and for them to fill out a quick survey at the end. Nobody has to sign up to anything.
Tea, wine, or whatever your policy allows. I'll follow your lead, and I'm very happy to bring it and some nibbles.
Parents just BYO to-do list, laptop and charger.
Please feel free to email or call me.
